Whoop whoop! We have been waiting to announce this since we started with our new years resolutions.
So drum roll please…. brrrrrrrrm tsh!
The style of 2019 is colour, colour, colour. From colourful confetti to bridesmaids dressed in all shades of the rainbow. You can incorporate this style in any way you like, the possibilities are endless.
Whether you want colourful bouquets or stained glass vases with candles on your tables and a venue decorated in the colours of joy and laughter. This style is loaded with personality and pizzazz for that daring bride and groom who are leaping into the most adventurous chapter of their lives.
Just remember to keep a balance, as this non restricting style can quickly get out of control and start looking like a colour explosion. The best thing to do is to choose one or two places to incorporate your daring colour display. Like, for instance, if your flowers are colourful, rather have plain bridesmaids dresses with colourful shoes. Or if your bridesmaids are in all colours, make your invitations and wedding stationery bright and inviting.
This is definitely one of those times where control is key and less is more.
So let’s dive into some colour pallets for this oh so bright colour scheme:
According to Magnet street and their wedding colour trends article, the colours of choice are;
Soft Blush, Navy, Sea Mist, Custom Champagne. Pretty pink meets dapper navy blue for a palette that exudes absolute romance! Setting an elegant, soft tone for a breezy summer day wedding, this chic color combo incorporates mellow neutral hues that create a flawless mix of pretty-meets-preppy. Whether a garden-boho or modern wedding style—this palette offers timeless appeal and is dynamic across nearly any wedding theme. Plus, navy suits and tuxes are still hot and sharp as ever, making this palette even easier to incorporate!
Coral, Pink Glass, Evergreen, Blue Fog, Custom Olive .
Pantone’s color of 2019 is “Living Coral!” Sweet as a sunset on a summer evening, coral offers depth that is simply intoxicating. Coral and light pink intertwined with organic greens and blues speak to backyard barbeques, summer peonies, or a walk through a cool foggy forest. Great for a late-spring or summer soirée, this palette creates a sense of whimsy freshness while still being ultra-sophisticated. It’s easy to set a romantic-meets-fresh tone with this summer color combo.
Pineapple, Ivy Green, Soft Blush
Yellow! It’s the color of sunshine and sunflowers—making it a happy choice for a hot summer celebration. Yellow comes in a variety of hues, but we are so enamored with a pineapple shade as a trendy upgrade to the sunny yellows we’re all used to. Add in a beautiful ivy green and soft pink for a romantic and free-spirited combo that is perfectly befitting for a country summer wedding … and one that will leave guests smiling.
Green Willow, Celadon, Blonde, Peach, Lilac Mist
Warm soft shades of greens and pastels are back again for summer, and this ethereal palette proves it. Green willow, soft celadon, warm yellow and peach, and delicate lilac purple together create a tranquil combination that’s easy on the eyes. This color combo no doubt evokes the dream-like quality of elegant summertime nuptials or intimate garden celebrations. A rural setting, shabby-chic décor, and delicate florals make for a great backdrop of this romantically relaxed palette.
Antique Sage, Pinor Noir, Soft Blush, Rainy Day, Greige
Let’s take a little step back in time, shall we? A vintage medley of sage, pinks, powdery blue, and greige juxtapose together in a way that brings us back to days gone by. Light minty sage and greige are romantic neutrals that come to life when paired with warm and cool shades found in nature—think blush peonies and a serene summer sky. This mellow combination is great across any summer wedding style, but especially one with antique flair!
Teal Waters, Antique Sage, Mint, Ivory
The seaside on a breezy, hot summer day inspires a palette of a stunning jewel-toned teal balanced by super-cool neutrals. Modern, hip, and minimal, teal adds a unique and astounding punch of color to any summer wedding celebration! Bold and vivid, you don’t need much for a picture-perfect wedding adorned in teal. It definitely makes a big, yet approachable statement when accented by subtle greens and ivory. Like the rolling waves of the sea, this combo flows with beauty and sophistication.
Antique Blue, Serene Sky, Parchment, Peach, Terracotta
Ah yes, another palette inspired by the rolling waters of a coastal summer. Peaceful and dreamy, this color combo of blues and twilight sun tones captures the essence and magic of an approaching summer evening. Whether a waterside wedding or not, this fusion of color can be seamlessly incorporated through natural décor elements, fiery late-summer blooms, stylish glassware, and organic textures. There’s ample harmony in this cool-meets-warm color combo that will paint a picture-perfect serene summer wedding!
Blue Fog, Antique Blue, Clover Green
You can almost feel the balmy breeze in the mountains with this cool, subdued color palette! Organic blues and foliage-based green together create a restful aura, guaranteed to surround a summer wedding in romance. This color palette is lovely across a variety of wedding themes, too! We love the elegant, outdoorsy, and slightly vintage ambiance of it—but see these colors looking beautiful with modern wedding décor, too. Dress it up or down for magical wedded day bliss.
On Sheckford Hall’s website we can see their favourite colours for 2019 are:
Green fit for royalty
On the 19th May 2018, Meghan Markle had all eyes on her as she walked the long aisle of St Georges Chapel in Windsor Castle. A simple palette of white and green surrounded the ceremony, offering purity and elegance. Looking at the professional photos from that day, it’s not hard to see why green has become THE colour for 2019 weddings. The beautiful thing about this simple colour combination is that it can be complimented with so many other shades, helping you create your own version of this gorgeous choice. If you want the rustic effect, wooden accessories look great as a background, allowing you to bring the outdoors in with twigs, tree stumps and rustic crates as part of your décor. Add glamour with flashes of sparkle and gold, whether it’s part of centre pieces or in the bridesmaid dresses. The perfect way to add an extra feminine touch. If you wanted to add more colour, pastel shades would be idyllic. Blush and lemon offers a refreshing splash, keeping it simple but effective.
Colours of paradise
The amazing thing about nature is that colours can come together offering the most glorious effect. You can mix all sorts of tropical colours from vibrant pinks to stunning oranges, deep greens to striking blues. These colours can brighten any space, giving your wedding theme that extra excitement and drama. If you are a bit of a traveler, it’s also a great way to incorporate a touch of the wanderlust feel, promoting the beautiful colours of your travels and the natural sunsets that you have enjoyed.
Purple is one of those colours which never goes out of style. Its various shades may edge in and out of popularity, but the colours itself stays a firm favourite in our brides and groom’s eyes. This year we have seen an increase in our couples choosing a single colour theme, violet weddings being one of them. Moving into 2019 however, we can see a trend towards various shades of a single colour being more popular. Keep an eye for a mix of violets, lilacs, magentas, heather and grape, to really add depth into floral arrangements and wedding décor.
Blue and blush
Blue and blush together can offer various effects, depending on the shades you use. If you decide on paler shades, this look is so subtle and adds an angelic charm to your wedding. These shades can sweep across your invites, flowers, table centre pieces and bridesmaid dresses, creating a world of calm. Other pastel shades can be incorporated into the theme but keeping it to just two shades can be truly stunning. Taking your blue to a navy, helps add a pop of colour to your day, offering the blush a contrasting colour to stand out against. Navy bridesmaid dresses allow you to keep your wedding accessories and décor simple and delicate, yet still maintaining that element of opulence, glamour and sophistication.
Edging back towards the more natural shades, using the muted colours of the forest offers a look of moodiness and mystery, especially for the Autumn months. This colour theme takes elements from each of the top colour trends from 2018 and creates one stunning theme. Muting the tropical colours, adding a touch of blush, complimenting with whites and offering a backdrop of a rich deep green creates the look and feel of woodland colours and is nothing short of stunning.
So the choices are endless for your wedding day colour palette.
