Miinella takes the time to come alongside their clients, design with them and create lasting pieces, relationships and beautiful stories. They work with a professional team of CAD designers and manufacturers to make the jewellery of their clients dreams come to life!

About Jacomien Minnaar our founder and head designer (left):
From an early age, her hands were always busy with small, creative projects. her favourite gift as an 8-year old was a jewellery making kit her mom brought for her from London. She studied a BA Degree Jewellery Design as well as a Masters Degree in Visual Arts at Stellenbosch University. Thereafter she was invested in the education of Jewellery and Gemstones for about 10 years. It was only after a year’s Creative internship in California that she came home and felt it was time to launch her business. She has always been passionate about beautiful stories (or testimonies), good design, gemstones, precious metals and using it as a medium to connect with people. She knew that owning her own business would give her the platform and freedom to use it for this purpose. So that is what she did – She started to showcase the beauty in each person or couple through jewellery.This was the launch of Miinella.
The Protea’s Story (right)
This story is a special one, it followed just after launching the company. In the midst of a challenging new season – especially financially, She felt that she had to start designing with Proteas, because it is known to be a flower that germinates after the fire has come. New life literally springs forth after a challenging season. That is why Miinella is donating the protea silver pendant – as a symbol of new life, hope, beauty, courage and perseverance amidst the trials of life. For her personally, she held on to the hope the protea represents. One week later, an unknown client contacted her to design a protea engagement ring! This was truly such a special story as it not only kickstarted her business, but more so, it was such a meaningful story to the couple. All of them knew that none of them could’ve planned this to happen, but they got to be a part of the story.
