Google introduced us to another new way to search and this time it is with your voice in AI Mode. It’s called Search Live and it uses AI to chat with you. You can ask questions and get answers while doing other things. Soon, you’ll even be able to show Search things with your camera as well. 

But is this just another fun feature to use, or will this search (Search Live) affect your website, brand and business in some way?

In the example (Google’s demo video) above, the user is using Search Live to find more information about how to pack linin in a suite case for traveling. The conversation is a free flowing, back-and-forth voice chat and for this query it is informational.

But what will happen when the user starts asking questions about best luggage brands to buy, or where to find romantic weekend holiday specials in South Africa? If you are in these specific industries or related to it, will Ai recommend your brand, your shop or travel services you offer? Google says that while you chat with Live Search, the Ai will predict and intuitively search for possible queries that may follow out of the conversation. The same way Gemini or ChatGPT will ask you if you want to know more about a related subject. This takes the informational query to another level, towards transactional.

Because Search Live works in the background, you can seamlessly continue the conversation while in another app. Want to explore even more? The following statement from Googles tech team should get SEO strategists and website owners attention. “Search Live with voice also uses our query fan-out technique to show you a wider and more diverse set of helpful web content, enabling new opportunities for exploration.” – Google
